The Little Church on the Hill
The Little Church on the Hill in Oakhurst, CA was built in 1892, a community effort by volunteer labor, donated materials and donated land. The Little Church was the area's only house of worship for nearly a half century, and it remained in use until 1954. The church was moved to the center of Oakhurst at the Oakhill Cemetery in 1957 and was fully restored in 1994.

This is the cemetary where my parents are buried, and where the rest of my family will be buried, God willing.  Oakhurst is a small town in the Sierra Nevada mountain range of California.  We used to live here, and re-visited when we were trying to find the right spot for the family plot (my mom had just died).

A confirmation came to us when we were standing quietly underneath the pine trees, feeling the breeze softly on our skin, watching the tree leaves dance, and listening to the sounds around us.  In that quiet moment, we heard the ancient Indian ancestors' chant come to us as if it traveled on a breeze.  That was our confirmation that we picked the right place.
