Constable Beard muttered "paparazzi" under his breath which made Constable Smiley break into a grin. I wanted to do something really provocative to make them chase me in the hope of snapping those kilts in full swing ...

@Stunner: They feel so free - if you know what I mean! Thanks for the visit Stunner!
Wait a moment, the police wear kilts in Australia ? I'd hate to see where they hang their badge . Cool portrait Sid.

@Fred: Their badge ? On their sporans, which are those hairy things hanging down in front of their thighs. There you go - now I've made the joke, see if you can top it!
Really funny! I like the large smile!

@frank: Thank you frank.
wow! Kilts down-under!? Must've been really hot for those poor guys. I can tell you from experience that they're alot warmer and heavier than they look. I wore mine here in Japan afew years ago in 0C and was quite comfortable. What a super and unexpected shot!

@Stu: In zero degrees - you're a hardy Scotsman! These two must be bandsmen - pipers probably - the "Tattoo" performers who travel annually to Edinburgh include police bands. Their normal uniform is a pair of trousers bristling with guns, cuffs, radios, and other weapons of public correction! I've tried darkening this shot because the grass is so light, but it's not working - the grass is that color because of drought. Thanks for the lovely comment Stu!
Nice photo Sidonie, cool characters!

@Alfredo J. Martiz J.: Thanks Alfredo - very kind!
I've been away from the computer again, so pardon my slow reply. As to topping your joke...I don't think i can ! But I will say this, if I was to have a disagreement with either of these two and wanted to get the badge number I'd have to ask for it instead of inspecting !

@Fred: We wouldn't dare ask for a badge number, although we should - last week an obstetrician on his way to deliver a baby at 3am was stopped on the highway by two guys in police uniform who robbed him, stuffed him in the boot, and set fire to the car. The doctor escaped, managed to get to the hospital to deliver the baby, and then reported it to the police. The badge question could have saved him this near-death event. Such is the trust (or fear) of the police!
