As an Architect I am fascinated by the way this building on the beach in Morecambe on the North West coast of England sits so naturally in the landscape. Somehow to me it conjures up the romance of those great images we have all seen of the beautiful beaches in Calfornia with their elevated lifeguard look-out huts.
However this beautiful looking Bay has its dark side. Although the sea looks placid on this photo, Morecambe Bay has one of the fastest and most dangerous tide races in the world - a few years ago 18 cockle pickers were tragically trapped by the incoming tide as night fell and were drowned.

@bronzebilly u.k.: Thanks bronzebilly!
This is a really nice landscape; that house adds to the total interest of the shot. Good work!

@Viewfinder: Thanks Viewfinder - The building is elevated on stilts and I think it is something to do with yacht racing.
A lovely landscape shot Ian How sad there's a dark side.

@Bron: Thanks Bron - Its true that the bay is beautiful but the tragedy was such big news in the UK that everyone is aware of the danger that lurks there when they look out to sea.
