This is my type of country Bill, love your shot very much.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Tracy. I see you were up late again. Did you try counting the sheep?
My kind of country, too, Bill, as one who certainly appreciates the spread! This feels so lush! Look at all the sheepies!
Bill Phillips: Thanks Ginnie. For me this is England at its' best. I wouldn't live anywhere else!
Bill phenomenal, I love this one very much, I wished I was on the same train
Bill Phillips: Thanks Astrid. It is a wonderful journey and we were lucky with the weather.
Very nice picture Bil.I like the perspective and the lighting
Bill Phillips: Thank you Richard, pleased you like it.
i could spend a lifetime here, Bill
Bill Phillips: So could I Terry. I love the North of England, especially Yorkshire and Northumbria.
bill this is pure magic, wonderful shot.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Mick, from you that's a great compliment.
I'm liking this one Bill, especially as you caught it on the move.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Nigel. This was one of only a few shots that were any good at all.
This is a likey for me.
Bill Phillips: Wow thanks Mary. You would love the real thing.
Blimey Bill: that's brilliant - and taken from a moving train too!
Bill Phillips: Thanks Chris. Mind it wasn't going very fast!
Oh Bill, this is a magical place. The rolling hills, valleys, sheep, and trees are so expressive and lush in your photograph.
Bill Phillips: Thanks. This is one of the most famous stretches of railway from Settle to Carlisle. The scenery in unforgettable
Wow! Certainly does look 'green and pleasant' doesn't it
Bill Phillips: It does indeed. It is a beautiful train journey.
This matches what I imagine the English countryside to look like. Nice!
Bill Phillips: It is one of my favourite parts. The beauty of the British Countryside is the huge variety in such a small Island.
I am moving there!!!! ;DDD
Reminds me of the title of one of my old favorites....."How beautiful was my valley"
Bill Phillips: You could do worse! The Yorkshire Dales are beautiful. Are you thinking of "How green was my valley"? That was about the Welsh Valleys and the coal mining.
This is why I could never live anywhere but Enland, no matter how much I might moan about the state of the country, politically. So beautiful. (:o)
Bill Phillips: I couldn't agree more. I suppose we get the Politicians we deserve.
EnGland, I meant EnGland! Having trouble co-ordinating mind and hands. Sigh!
Bill Phillips: I knew what yo mnt i hve th sme trubll
If not for the weak dollar, I would be here in no time. I hope the river is full of trout, so I can swing my flies.
Z
Bill Phillips: Not being an Angler I don't know about the trout, but it could be interesting seeing you swing your flies;D
What a beauty. richard
Bill Phillips: Thanks Richard.
I like the contrast of the misty hills against the bright green dale - nice effect.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Ronald.
It truly is picture perfect. It looks magical.
Bill Phillips: It was magical Scarlet. If you ever get the chance to go you will love it.
oh Bill thats one of your best for me, stunning scene, stunning capture, were not just famous for our yorkshire puds are we
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much Tim. I make a pretty good Yorkshire pud. Not these puffy things mind, one with a bit of substance to fill 'em up!
Ah the settle Carlisle railway - recall a very wet afternoon in Bent. Beautiful when the sun does shine. Great photo. Mike
Bill Phillips: Thanks Mike. This and the NYM railway take a bit of beating. Mind the Severn Valley isn't bad.
Thanks for the memory Bill, while I was in the UK I travelled everywhere by train or bus. You have captured this scene perfectly.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Aussie. Our trains may be dirty, unreliable and slow but they go through some wonderful places!
England's Green and Pleasant Land! The Settle and Carlisle line is one I really want to travel on - I've heard its one of the best? Mike
Bill Phillips: It is a delight Mike. They had just re-painted Settle Station when we were there and it was beautiful. We went on a normal service and just enjoyed the view!
I could look at this for hours, Bill. That's why I'm going to "likey" this one! Fantastic picture. Everything is crisp and in focus.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Kay. I'm ever so pleased you have likeyed this. Believe me the real thing is even better.
This is very surreal looking, like scenery form a story-tale. The vantage point is phenomenal. i'm going to have to likey this one
Bill Phillips: Wow another likey. Thank you so much Julie you've made my day!
