I knocked but nobody was home.
A Moment in Photographic History: Consuelo Kanaga, who died February 28 1978, had a sixty year career in photography. She was included in several important exhibitions such as the 1932 Group f.64 exhibition in San Francisco with such notables as Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Imogen Cunningham, and Edward Steichen. - A Photographic Quote of Note: I never have taken a picture I've intended. They're always better or worse. - - - - Diane Arbus

I love shots like this, it gives me so much to think about. I know nothing about the lighting, the composition, etc. but there is a whole story here. Thanks, once again for the great photo.

Maybe the horsie was out for a ride. Excellent, Michael.

I really like the simplicity of this shot.

Hi Michael, isn't it weird how numbers bring something of extra significance to a photo. I've no idea why but they do.
I love the Arbus quote by the way. It really rings true for me.

Very good composition Michael! I'm expecting to see the horse's head in the door frame any second now...

They must have gone out for their morning gallop ;-) Love the geometry encompassing this image. The light and dark square areas of the door and opening, the vertical lines juxtapositioned with the horizontal of the wall.

Great photo and b&w conversion. I love photos of doors, openings, and etc. What really stands out for me is the number 17...I think it adds interest. But what I especially like is the rustic looking wood and the straw on the ground (great texture). Well done!

Very much like how the lines and rectangles play off one another. Well framed...and another shot of your where the horizontal thumbnail is as interesting, maybe more so, than the vertical image.

I adore this simple yet magnificent rustic photo, and the number 17....don't ask me why, I just love it. Bravo on this exquisite photo...and for the quote, well that's why post-processing came into being. To me it's not messing with Nature, because it's not often that a photo can match perfectly what you saw through the lense, and it doesn't always translate the way you saw it. That's why I think post-processing is the best thing that happened...and for purist who truly believe that a photo is better left natural as to be untouched, they don't see that nothing can reproduce God's work, but we sure can come as close to it as we can, n'est-ce pas? Wow that was a long message....lol

If that is door 17 then it must be a pretty big stable. Nice framing. :)

When looking at the shot, it looks like something is going to happen any minute and you keep staring at it because you do not want to miss it ;) Wonderful!
