These are two little vases prob only about 3in high or 7.62cm - very cute and even tho they are small - they are quite useful. Wild flowers are the best and roses from a rose bush work really well since the stems are not that long. I'm not even a fan of roses, but the little ones in these vases are quite pretty.
So these two vases have been bisque fired some time ago. They are white stoneware and I wanted to fire them in the CONE 10 (cone 10 is the basically means how hot the kiln will be fired cone 10 is a high firing) firing. However, due to renovations the CONE 10 gas kiln is taken apart and moved :( hummm i should take a picture of it, because as of right now its literally sitting in our classroom (wtf?!!!) anyway
The black colored lines you see on the vases are black wax resist. That means where ever the black lines are the glaze will be repelled away from it leaving the black.
Today was ridiculously hard to get out of bed. I would have thought it was raining out and you know it makes you just want to cuddle up under the covers. But there was no rain for such an excuse AND I even went to bed at 10:30 - I suppose I was just really tired.
Well, I just heard that my dear friend saranoh has brought in my presents a day early - wooo hoooo - i get to open presents :D
Excitingly waiting to rip off that crazy polka dot wrapping paper, rabbit

For some odd reason...my work computer won't let me leave comments. Annoying I must say. Well...even though it's May 1st, let me go ahead and say this...because I won't be able to leave a comment at work tomorrow. So...on that note... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I admire how these traditional pots sport that active fractional pattern . . rather like WW1 battleships in disguise . . tho they always look like battleships to me. Happies, too!
