A Moment in Photographic History: Danish photographer Jacob Riis was born May 3, 1849. After emigrating to the United States he became a police court reporter for the New York Tribune. By the end of the 1880s he began using photography to draw attention to the conditions under which the poor in the U.S.. His first book, "How the other half lives," exposed the appalling conditions of the time. One day Riis returned to his office to find a note reading "I have read your book and I have come to help." It was from the head of the New York Police Board of Commissioners, Theodore Roosevelt. The photographs Riis had taken were instrumental in securing a number of reforms. - A Photographic Quote of Note: Should a nude photograph be erotic or devoid of emotion ? I don’t believe any photograph should be devoid of emotion – as for erotic, that is up to the photographer. - - - - - - Aaron Rose

Hmmm, so that's where my medicinal red/white is created. Is that a cloudy blue sky painted on the ceiling?

Wow, this details out a much more complicated process than when Lucy stomped on grapes in a barrel to produce vino. ;-)
Even so, modern technology produces some very fine wines. It is just too bad they can not be delivered over the web -- I hope a future posting gives us a 'taste' of more of this place!

Everything looks sparkling clean. To make sparkling wine. Ha ha. Sort of takes the romance out of wine making, doesn't it? Or the comedy, when Lucille Ball stomped grapes with Ethel. Although the atmospheric high brings a little comedy back.
