A Moment in Photographic History: French photographer Charles Negre was born May 9, 1820. He became a pupil of painter Paul Delaroche. Negre saw a demonstration of the daguerreotype process in 1844 and became hooked on photography. - A Photographic Quote of Note: Photography is a means of recording forever the things one sees for a moment. - - - - - - Aaron Sussman

Neat image shown in excellent detail. Looks like its closed from the look of the stairs.

What a wonderful old church! You've got wonderful detail and the white against the blue sky is picture perfect. Pity about the stairs though! Oh! wait a minute - the steps are OK to go in the left door - the right one has a ramp for the handicpapped! So it could be still open after all!

I love the sharp angles against the deep blue sky - so tough to expose for both white church and sky and you did a fabulous job. the red trim on the windows makes this shot!

this is a really beautiful old church. i love the details in its facade and how the church seems to be all alone in that little town, probably just waiting for people to pay her a visit.

Now that is a terrific church shot! In some places it's really showing its age, but when you look at it as a whole it's just so grand and stately. Great shot, Michael!

I like the little bit of humor with the "handicapped ramp for the handicapped". Or maybe that's just me... hmmm, doubt it. LOL!! Wonderfully quaint church showcased wonderfully.

great exposure and lighting balance across the frame to bring out details of this wonderful looking church...

And how do you discourage people in wheel chairs from coming into your church and marking up the floors with tire marks? You just make a handy little ramp with a fence that scrapes all the hide off them, that's how. They can give at the ramp and give in the collection plate. Money and hide, that's all they ask.
