Green Lynx Spider (Peucetia viridans) L: 5/8 inch
Lynx spiders are named for the way they pounce on their prey in a catlike manner. These spiders spend their time hunting for insects in bushes and low plants. Though Lynx spiders are swift runners, they can occasionally be seen hiding next to flowers. They construct no webs for prey capture, but they do leave a silk dragline as they hunt among leaves. Green Lynx spider will aggressively attack insect prey, but it rarely will bite a human.
