Sky over Droitwich
The Croatia v Turkey game was a bit scrappy and then I noticed the sky looked rather nice. So I staggered off and got my camera and took a few pictures. It's a bit grainy but I quite like it.

It's got a lovely warmth cloud shots often lack. Nice.
Bill Phillips: It was late evening and the clouds really were this colour. It was far better than the football!
I quite like it as well. It looks like a painting. Very cool.
Bill Phillips: Thank you Michael.
well...yeh...I like it, too. I don't think graininess detracts at all, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Ray. I was surprised that there was this much grain at iso400.
Very interesting clouds Bill
Bill Phillips: Thanks Vintage.
I quite like it too Bill. Very nice colours contrast!
Bill Phillips: Thank you Richard. The colours were nice
I like it too, but honestly cant describe why exactly.
Bill Phillips: You don't have to have a reason
This is how I remember the UK clouds with layer upon layer, very different from ours.
Bill Phillips: We get lots of nice cloud formations...to be honest they make for better landscapes than clear blue ones!
This gives the impression that you are looking down from an aeroplane through the clouds to the sea below! I like this one.
Ingrid
Bill Phillips: Funnily enough Ange said more or less the same thing. I couldn't quite put my finger on why this looks odd and that's it. Instead of looking up it seems like you are looking down. It wasn't intentional
I quite like it, too- geweldig- today we are expecting the Germany v Turkey game, the sky looks rainy- whatever will happen we very hope that it will be a friendly football-party-together( for more than a million Turks are living in Germany and are Germans)!
Bill Phillips: I'm sure it will be a good game. I shall miss it as I'm going out.
On reflection I can see why you would take a photo like this...I guess the game took so much out of you that you just had to look up for inspiration.
cool
Bill Phillips: LOL..the game was boring so my attention wandered outside!
It is an interesting sky, Bill Phillips 2008. Brilliant write up here. I can just see you watching the scrappy game and then looking up and seeing the sky. You then thought that you should bring your TV in as it is getting towards dusk. You had drunk so but alcohol that you staggered as you searched for your long lost camera. Your hands were so shaky that you asked Mrs Bill in a slury voice to take it for you.
Bill Phillips: Are you implying that I was under the affluence of incahol when this was taken and that I have posted the work of another? Sir Chadwick..I am cut to the quick ...hic! Hic!
This actually looks like a satellite view of earth, Bill, kinda like what Ingrid was saying. Exactly. How cool.
Bill Phillips: Yes it does. Totally unintentional, it just looked good so I took some pictures!
Wow! Love these clouds, and the colors, too.
Bill Phillips: Thank you Caryn and thanks for visiting.
positively love it Bill, after 30 years of laying bricks i can do it with my eyes shut, so i spend most of my time looking up, it never ceases to amaze me changing all the time, great capture Bill
Bill Phillips: Thank you Sir Tim of Leeds.
Nice color in the sky.cool shot
Bill Phillips: Thank you very much zohre, and thank you for visiting.
Someone took great care to arrange this just so especially for you. Nice!
Bill Phillips: Thanks Martin. There was plenty of sky to chose from, so he was generous too!
My first thought was of looking downwards from a 'plane. Great abstract and matching border
Bill Phillips: Thanks Louis. It hadn't occurred to me until people said it, but it does look as if you are looking down
A very unusual picture Bill, it pays to look up sometimes.
Bill Phillips: It does indeed Brian
You did so right to leave the players on the field and take a break, LOVE the colours, it does look like an old painting of some Dutch masters from the golden age.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Astrid. I see Germany only just got through against Turkey tonight.
Nice picture, Bill. Watching clouds is a bit like watching flames in the fire. You can make pictures with them.
I know you were looking up, but I can see sea rolling up to a built up beach here. Perhaps this is Riza, holiday place for Star Trekkers!
Bill Phillips: If it is them beam me up!
Superb, Bill. First impressions, I though of looking out of a space shuttle down at little Earth.
Bill Phillips: It's funny but until people said this it hadn't struck me, but it does look as if you are looking down.
My first thought was that you had taken this through the window of an aeroplane (just noticed Louis had the same impression) then I read the text. Well seen Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Les. It was my wife who first spotted that it looked as if you were looking down, and the more I look at it the more that is how it looks. I can't claim any credit as it hadn't occurred to me at all!
Hi Bill - this one is interesting : at first I mistook it for a satellite picture. I can see why you like it. Mike
Wow! Very nice and unique. I see the waves of the sea beneath the gray-orange colored clouds.
I can look for hours at this picture.
Bill Phillips: Thank you. It turned out to be a much better picture than I imagined!
Indeed, it's such kind of picture which balances between:
a/ delete it, it looks too weird b/ very unique & original, if I would be very famous then people would pay a lot for this one
Bill Phillips: I like b better than a
