i realize this probably isn't the best quality image but how often do you see the sun like this through wildfire smoke? probably won't be able to respond to comments, etc this weekend--should be back Monday
too much going on right now, so i haven't been able to catch up on everyone's blogs--and it's looking like it's only going to get worse. this is actually exciting for other aspects of my life but something has to give... i'll still be posting photos as i can, but since photoblogging is supposed to be my stress relief, not a source of stress (e.g. feeling bad when i'm unable to respond to comments or follow your work--not only because i so appreciate your having doing that for my work but also because i enjoy seeing and being inspired by yours), this will unfortunately have to be one of the things that 'gives.' again, danthro is not disappearing, just appearing less.
Comments, feedback, criticism, suggestions, etc. are always appreciated. Thanks! Image too large? Click the 'small' link in the bottom right corner for a smaller view.

It still is a nice image, though i don't like what fire does to peoples property.

It is a wonderful shot! I'm sure the smoke helped with the colours, but you have captured it well. Hope there was minimal damage from the fire!

a really very beautiful image - I like the combination of the road with the sunset

It's lovely despite what the smoke has obscured.

Beautiful colors in this sky. Like how you've framed it between two trees.

Love the colors and the road really does ground the image. I was reading an article in a photography magazine about outdoor photography in which the pro being interviewed said he liked to shoot on the margins of metropolitan areas where the environmental pollutants reacted with the light to create the most interesting skies ... I'd say a wildfire does a pretty good job of creating an interesting sky.

Those wildfires have been terrible – the softer feel through the smoke makes for almost a haunting image.
