Wear and Tear
Last impressions from Hawaii when we were there recently for my daughter's wedding on June 1.
A tough row to hoe (on Waikiki Beach)! [Today I fly back to Atlanta.]

Like the composition. HOw do you get such sharp images?
Ginnie: HA! Must be the camera or the lens, ChiChi.
A wonderful capture, Ginnie. The light, shadows, and colors and spectacular.
Ginnie I agree with Sherri great capture of colour light and shadow.that board looks like its ready of retirement.
hihihi! on dirait le nez d'un avion!
The life of a "for hire" long board in this place must be painful and short, but with brief moments of wild climactic passion when a competent client and a perfect wave come together.
A beautiful, unusual holiday "snap", Ginnie.
Ontzettend mooie schaduwen over het board, the play of shadows over this board is very beautiful, this is a great picture with the perfect light.
It breaks my heart though to see these 'rentals' so torn up..it seems: it's not mine so I can do whatever I please with it'. Have a safe flight home.
Wonderfully vivid, and beautifully crisp. That has seen some action.
Great capture and beautiful colors tone!Ginnie, i like the blue in this picture
Looks serviceable to me
Makes me want to just grab that board and head out to sea. Nice capture Ginnie.
This has been a great series Ginnie. I have enjoyed them very much. My instant feel on today's image was a very early morning on Waikiki Beach, a sleepy morning as the hire companies get ready for the arrival of the sunbathers.
The blue colour that was clear with the game of two corners diagonal that was good.
A photograph technically DOF that was good. Regards from Yogyakarta Indonesia. I love it blue Ginnie!
I especily like: the sky, the blue colour of the board and the shwadows on the board - all this elements forming a nice composition
Love the shadow play in this shot Ginnie. The colours and lighting are just so good. Great composition mijn vreind.
Safe flight back to the US.
Beautiful capture Ginnie. I like the subtle light/shadow play!
Have a safe trip back home.
Ginnie, great - clear, crisp and good framing. Also the shadows on the board - as always you have a very good eye for the situation.
Like the shadows on the board and the diagonal composition. You get the feeling that this one is on its last legs!
Ingrid
A very strong composition Ginnie
I see, wild lady, your passion for surf-boards. Astrid and Vintage are right with their remark, I like the shades of blue, an I wish you a safe flight over the clouds (not over the waves)!
A bit worn, a bit weatherbeaten, fine colours and a good composition Ginnie.
Love the shadows down the board, lovely sharp image.
I'm seeing lots of duct and electrical tape. Wonder if they have it holding their bodies together too!
Great shot with the shadows and vivid colors.
This is nice. Makes me want to go and surf although i don't know how and i can't swim. We should 'talk' about the framed print. i was serious.
Ginnie: Knowing how to swim would probably be important, Bandoras!
If you're serious (you really flatter me!), let me know what you have in mind. I will be on vacation starting tomorrow till Sunday but will be able to get it done for you next week. What makes the most sense is to get the print made for you and then mail just the print so you can frame it however you want?
good perspective and playing with lines
Love the pattern of the shadows on the board. Great colors!
Nice one Ginnie. I like the shadow on the board thing.
You chose a good shooting angle Ginnie...and what a potent slab of blue...richard
Beautiful Hawaii, on my list of places to visit when I retire. I love this composition with the blue surf board, sand and ocean. A lovely beach setting that would go well on the cover of a brochure.
I like the close in, dramatic color and form in this shot. The angle you chose for the shot makes the angles work out very well too. Fine image.
Is this like a bike rack for canoes or surfboards? Yeah, how do you get such sharp images?
This image has it all: color, texture, shadow, clarity, diagonals, highlights, Hawaii
Almost radiant blue!
The table of surf for of mirror in the shade!
I love the shadows on the board. Superb shot
Nice colours and composition Ginnie, you done the right thing by splitting the horizon.
I like the intensity of the blue surf board, and how it contrasts against the other blues
Wonderful composition, Ginnie. I love the DOF.
Great composition with the boards forming diagonal arrows pointing the flight direction from A'dam to Atlanta
Another photo with those beautiful colors and lighting. Great !
Ginnie: You're a sweetheart, Carsten. Thanks.
Nice bold colours.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Tony, for stopping by and commenting.
