Arizona Toad- Bufo microscaphus – L= 2 to 3 inches. The coloration of this toad is quite variable depending on locality, but is often gray above with beige, pale dull yellow, rust, brown, or pink hues. Juveniles are likely to be light olive or salmon colored with reddish warts. The Arizona Toad tends to habitat areas of shallow, flowing, permanent water over sandy or rocky substrates, usually in river canyons or foothill streams. Within these habitats, Arizona toads often select slower moving water or pools where the tree canopies are relatively open.
