Little Spokane River

An early morning picture of the Little Spokane River shot at Pine River Park. Between the park and that mountainous hill lies the Wandermere Golf Course. My regular coffee place is to the left of that hill about one half mile(.8 kilometers). My home is beyond the hill about one and a half miles (2.4 kilometers). 'The Little Spokane River is a tributary of the Spokane River. It joins the Spokane River from the east approximately 10 mi (16 km) northwest of Spokane. The river has several popular hiking trails along it, and is a popular destination for canoeing and kayaking. It is unique in that it is one the largest privately owned rivers in the United States.' NOTE: added later: Private ownership lies with each owner of land along the river. Can you image a property line in the middle of the river?
Those who don't like canoes and kayakers coming along sometimes complain with signs along the river, but all the boaters have to do is move to the other side of the river and go on! Hilarious isn't it.:-) Roads near the river are all posted with no parking signs and notices of private property. Fortunately,
we have the park from which this shot was made and the Little Spokane River Natural Area on downstream with hiking trails for the general public.
