Evie took me back to Salado Creek today to capture it in the Summer.

We saw a fox when it ran across the road in front of us, but we didn't capture a photo of it.

We saw the largest turtle we'd ever seen sun bathing on a tree partially submerged in the creek from the Spring flood, but we didn't capture a photo of it.

We saw a beautiful cloud formation as an isolated rain shower poured while the sun shone brightly, but we didn't capture a photo of it.

However, with all the things we failed to capture we did capture this reflection of Evie and when I told her I'd post it she was very pleased.

She had a pretty rough day. While I was shooting photos of Salado Creek a flying bug nearly as large as Evie flew inside her and when I saw it on the passenger door I had to walk around and open the door to let it out:-)

After we got back on the road we were behind a man on a motorcycle and he was smoking and we could smell the cigarette smoke because we had our windows open. Evie doesn't have air conditioning and she has allergies to cigarette smoke and thought the man should have had a helmet on and both hands controlling his bike instead of smoking.

Needless to say she was so happy to see the "NO SMOKING" emblem reflecting on her after the ordeal she endured today. When we left our town she had no idea we were going to take such a long trip.


Thank goodness, I have given up smoking again!... I feel fit. Homicidal, but fit. A different man. Irritable, moody, depressed, rude, nervy, perhaps; but the lungs are fine.
