The swing at Karlaby Kro
« previousnext »

One of two old, wooden swings under the big tree in the garden at Karlaby Kro, the old country spa hotel we were at a few weeks ago in southern Sweden.

On a purely technical level, the processing on this was a bit more extreme than I generally like and it's produced some weird little things if you know where to look (and I am not going to point them out). But what appealed to me as I was playing around with it was being able to make the swing pop from the background a bit more even with the anomalies and introduced graininess. If I had been thinking at the time, I would have used a flash to help do that at the time of taking, but I didn't.

Also a very simple and great capture... maybe the background is a bit to sharp for me ;)

I find the graininess and harshness of the background distracting from the simple beauty of the swing. Great composition, though.
