Stripper Cam +

This is my D200 half naked. I guess they ran out of glue at the Nikon Repair Center...that's not the worst though. The real bad news is that the "repaired" card reader only lasted a month. Once again, the camera smells burned and is not reading the CF cards. I'm now the proud owner of a dead BGLOD-D70 (repaired and broken again) and an agonizing, nearly dead, D200. Wish me luck tomorrow that customer service is not on vacation!

UPDATE: The official NIKON customer service in Barcelona IS on vacation. Once again, great customer service. They open again August 25th. I don't even want to think about how backed-up they are going to be after a month on vacation. Maybe I should really consider making the switch to Canon!

• Uuups ... I'm sorry. I had a half naked Nikon camera a few months ago. They really seem to have a glue problem.

• Sounds so incredibly frustrating!! Everything is great when things are all in order..when they're not - it can make you crazy!! Nice image...and lots of luck with the repairs!!!

• Das mit der Belederung ist ein Problem der Nikons, kannst Du überall in den Nikonforen lesen, mit etwas Geschick selbst zu löen. Das Problem mit dem lesen der CF-Card ist da schon übler, vor allem wenn die Kamera erst beim Service war. Sehr ärgerlich, tut mir leid für Dich. Aber wenn Du Glück hast dann geht es ja wieder schnell. Aber Dein Archiv birgt doch sich noch einige Schätzchen. So ein Glück für uns Besucher ;-)

• My D200 have the same "missing glue" error. Funny my old F80 never experienced any problem what so ever ... apparently film will outlast digital ;)

• Wow, I have a D200 for 3 years now and I still have all the rubber intact, very dirty, from some very rough use, but still intact. Sorry you are having problems with your Nikons. I've not had any issues with mine. Like others have said, all things can have issues. I've had issues with products that others have always considered very reliable. Sometimes it is just the luck of the draw.

• Tristes noticias sobre las Nikon, desde luego Canon (en las compactas por lo menos) mantiene una política de atención al cliente excelente. Hace poco nos cambiaron una cámara IXUS v3 (por fallo en el CCD) después de años sin garantía.

• Try going to the Nikon web site and sending an email message to their support, don't know if that will do any good. Start sending complaint emails to anyone from Nikon see what they will do. Also, refer them to your web site and tell them you have contact with photographers from all over the world and they really don't want bad advertising.

• Wow! So bad! When corporations too big then they do bad to small people!! Problem with big corporations is when they do many bad things that people like me and you never want to do just to make more and more and more moneys!! so sorry for all your problem and i hope NIKON see that they make fault for stopping your beautiful pictures!

• I'm very happy with my D80, but Nikon service in Barcelona really sucks. I had a N6000 (the one I wanted to give you as a xmas present) and they said me (laugthing on my face) that I should wait at least 3 or 4 months to have the cam repaired... then half year later when I tried to recall the camera they just lost it!!! no I never had my camera back!!! Morons!
  
  If I had a problem (crossing mu fingers!!) I will send it to Germany or USA. My HD cam is a Canon bougth in NY and in less than 36 hours I have any piece rigth at my home.
