passions
Cropped: NoThis past week I corresponded with a person who mentioned hearing a man singing on the street and it was the song "All of Me". The first thing I thought of was "Old Blue Eyes" Frank Sinatra. My Daddy had an extensive album collection with a wide range of artists. For as long as I can remember there was music in our home and it was played on a Zenith console stereo. The album collection and stereo are now in my home and the only thing that keeps me from playing them is the need for a diamond needle.Anyway, I was pretty sure Sinatra had sung "All of Me", but I searched it out and he did, but as I followed one link to another I ran across songs recorded by Diana Krall. I have one of her CD's and enjoy her passion for music. She feels her music on the piano and through her expressive voice."A Case of You" is a song I wasn't familiar with, but I love her bluesy rendition so I've embedded the video below.Ah, and the photo is one I captured of John standing in the dugout during one of Matthew's little league games. The coaches aren't permitted on the field when the other team is up to bat. I don't know why it doesn't show, but I shot this through a fence. He's between the fences.
In music the passions enjoy themselves.- Nietzsche
