THE PHOTO: Taken during a short (and incredibly memorable) stay at Desenzano del Garda for a work conference. Walking down from the Hotel towards the town centre I passed this small shrine on the side of the road. Couldn't resist a photo.
POST PROCESSING: Artificial blurring of background (forgot to set aperture in camera), Velvia vision, Sharpen, Dodge and Burn, Curves.
Another shot with my little LX3. A good example of getting a shot that I would otherwise have missed. I carry the camera about in my pocket so it accompanies me most of the time when I'm out.
This is a Harvey Nics window display - I really liked the bold colours they were using and fancied trying out the vibration reduction (or whatever Panasonic call it). Handheld at 1/15 sec to get that motion blur.
Trust This one, for me, is very much an "Awww!" moment, such tenderness in both directions, which shows how happy the bird is. The falconer used the name "Earl of Ducie" .
Probably the most iconic of all Fair symbols is the Ferris Wheel. This past Saturday we took grandson Nicholas (age 8) to our local fair and rode this Seattle Wheel which was commissioned at the 1962 Seattle's World Fair in Washington. Almost every Ferris Wheel in the world has straight spokes whereas this wheel uses the radical "wishbone" shaped spokes, giving it the classic retro 1960's look.
