I am located in Topeka, the State Capitol of Kansas and within a half-hour drive of entering the Kansas Flint Hills, the largest remaining area of native tall grass in North America. What an opportunity to capture digital images of an area that is unexcelled pastureland and beautiful scenery, much less to discover remnants of historical buildings and sites that were once occupied by early American and Kansas settlers. The Kansas motto, "Kansas: As big as you think" just about says it all and there's plenty of opportunity for photographers to capture the essence and beyond of this open Heartland. |
