Was with another model shoot this weekend. I think I'm beginning to relax and be comfortable at this. This batch of models exudes different characters, so I think my approach was also modified for this shoot.

Sorry everyone for the mess, Edgar abused my trust and will be duly punished as soon as I get back (all I can say is that it will involve oranges...). Also note that the photo posting time will follow my timezone, Pacific Standard Time at the moment.

San Francisco is an amazing city for photography, there are opportunities just everywhere! I took this one on the UN plaza, downtown, which was teeming with homeless people. I really liked the story here, contrasting between the UN symbol and this old guy walking with a lot of dignity.

The last time I was in the Northern Territory was all the way back in May 1999, as a medical student. I went on a research trip to Lake Evella, Gapuwiyak, Northern Territory (Australia). 750 Aboriginals, 25 Caucasians, and for a month, 1 Asian (Me)!

These photos aren’t mine, but the outback GP who was looking after me. He had one of the first ever digital cameras. I’ll post some more images later…

Rose mallow is an annual flower that is related to both hibiscus and hollyhock. It grows to more than 100 cm by the end of summer and branches vigorously to form a sturdy bush. The showy bright pink trumpet shaped flowers, borne in leaf axils, are 5 to 10 cm in diameter.

Rose mallow is native to the Mediterranean region, from Morocco, Portugal, Spain and Southern France to Turkey and the Levant. It is naturalized in other some other locations in Europe and on other continents, including the mid-west and south-east of the USA. In the British Isles it occurs as a casual in southern England.
