My first thought on viewing Priit P?§rna's photographs was "candid." I felt like I was there, seeing the scenes through his lens. I like that feeling and that kind of connection to a photographer and his or her images. There is an intimacy in the candid shot that can't be found in other types of shots, a certain je ne sais quoi.
Priit brings Estonia to our computer screens, making the world a bit smaller. One of the things that I enjoy about his shots, however, is how universal they are. If you didn't see a street sign, a placard above a door, or other lettering, you could be viewing a street scene in Paris, a park in Toronto, or a beach in California. He brings us all a bit closer to understanding exactly how alike we all are and how differences are superficial.
