Jon Swainson doesn't just shoot nature photography or portraits. He is able to also portray the emotions that a scene may evoke. A waterfall is no longer just a waterfall. Instead, it becomes something more -- reaching into the viewer and extracting a piece of memory, a feeling, an emotion that is waiting to be drawn out.
While Jon photographs mainly in his neighborhood of Yorkshire, England, it is the universal appeal of that emotional response that makes his photography unique and desirable. As he writes, "The thing I aim for is to demand an emotional response from the viewer." Jon certainly succeeds in his goals.
