Asuka Suzuki shoots primarily in the film format. Using her trusty Lomo LC-A or Nikon FM3A cameras, she photographs her travels in the muted tones of fine film processing. Asuka photographs Japan in a way that is all at once new, and yet reminiscent of days gone by. It has that dreamy quality that is very modern.
Much of the mood is Asuka's skill, but some of it is indicative of the artistic Lomo. With the signature vignetting, her photographs are focused on the scene at hand, giving shape to what is the true focus of the image. Quintessential Lomo photography with great insight thrown in makes a fun excursion.
