This is what I noticed first about Pete Carr's photography: it takes reality and makes it bigger than life. What I mean by that is the art of photographing subjects that we all see, like concerts, art exhibits, or public events, and he makes them bigger and stronger. The hues take on a more powerful tint, the subject becomes bigger than life. Take, for instance, the recent La Princesse event. This mechanical spider is bigger than life to begin with, but through Pete's photography, she becomes more -- more dynamic, more thrilling, and certainly a bit more menacing within the artistic achievement.
Pete, the consummate photographer, is also willing to share his skills. On his website, you will find an HDR tutorial. Within the details of his photographs, he talks about the experience of the photography as well as the experience of the event. While this is great historical information, it is also a wonderful tool for the beginning photographer to understand the nuances behind quality photography.
