Matthias Pabst, a 30-year-old self-taught (since December 2005) photographer from Karlsruhe, Germany, shows us what the sky is all about. While he does do portraitures and urban photography, it is really his landscapes and skyscapes that pop. Wide, open skies that dominate photographs with clouds that billow and glide across those skies are what jump out the most.
Matthias has perfected the art of cloud photography. In fact, the clouds are a character in his photography and each photograph shows a different personality. Whether the clouds are soft and puffy or linear and full of color, each image is a sight of wonder. These are the kinds of skies we long for, the kinds that make us turn and stare and wish we, too, had the skill to turn the skies above us into a work of art.
