Gavin Mullan, from Northern Ireland, is a celebrated young photographer who has a keen eye for composition and depth within his photography. With a dramatic flare for shadows and light, the angles of the photographs give a stronger appeal to everyday items that most of us would bypass. Gavin, on the other hand, gives them power and, in doing so, an incredible view of the world in which he walks.
Gavin's photographs are not those we typically associate with Northern Ireland or his new home in Scotland. Instead, we see, through Gavin's lenses, a world that is more intimate, more gritty, and more detailed than that of the tourist campaigns we usually see. Gavin's is an alternate, beautiful, raw view of an iconographic landscape.
